Public Hearing - February 10, 2025
Two Petitions to Reduce Taxes in FY26
Public Hearing- A Citizens’ Petition has been submitted to the North Attleborough’s Town Council, executed by greater than 25 citizens/voters, directing the Town Council to grant an FY26 Real Estate Tax Reduction to Tax paying Citizens in the amount of $1.7mm.
AND
Public Hearing – A Citizens’ Petition has been submitted to North Attleborough’s Town Council, to hold a Public Hearing and take action on said petition as follows: To direct the Town Manager and for the Town Council to adopt a budget for FY26 of approximately 1% less than normally allocated: 1% of a budget of approximately $100M is $1M or about $100 per family. This would create excess levy capacity allowing the Town to access said funds in case of extreme need.

Petition to Reduce Taxes on Seniors if High School Vote Passes
Public Hearing – A Citizens’ Petition has been submitted by Town Councilor Mark Gould to North Attleborough’s Town Council, to hold a Public Hearing and take action on said petition as follows: “Petition to Reduce Taxes on Seniors if High School Vote Passes- We petition the North Attleborough Town Council to hold a Public Hearing and take action on said petition as follows: “To direct the Town Manager and for the Town Council to adopt a Special Act to take effect only if the debt exclusion vote passes to build a new High School. The intent is to protect seniors with low income or assets from having taxes increase to an unmanageable level to protect seniors’ health and homes.”

Determination Whether to Renew A Cable TV License to Verizon New England, Inc.
Please take notice that the Town Council, as Issuing Authority for a cable television license under M.G.L. c.166A, will hold a Public Hearing in the JoAnn Cathcart Conference Room in Town Hall, at 43 South Washington Street, on Monday, MARCH 10, 2024 at 7:00PM. The purpose of the public hearing will be to determine whether to renew a cable television license to Verizon New England, Inc. All applications, reports, statements and license drafts to be considered at the hearing that constitute public records under state law are available for public inspection during regular business hours and for reproduction at a reasonable fee. Members of the public are invited to attend and be heard on the topic: (a) whether the current cable operator is in full compliance with its currently-existing cable license; and (b) what are the Town’s future community cable-related needs.

Petition to Inform Community on Town Water Condition and Remediation Efforts
Public Hearing – A Citizens’ Petition has been submitted by Town Councilor Mark Gould to North Attleborough’s Town Council, to hold a Public Hearing and take action on said petition as follows: “Petition to Inform Community on Town Water Condition and Remediation Efforts- We petition the North Attleborough Town Council to hold a Public Hearing and DPW to present to the Council and the public an update and written report on the condition of the water, steps being taken, and progress being made to bring the water in compliance with the Federal EPA Regulation of 4 parts per trillion of PFAS. Further that DPW present a written quarterly report and quarterly public update to the Council until the water is certified to be in compliance with the Federal standard of 4 parts per trillion of PFAS.”
