Recognized as Vietnam Veterans Day, March 29th is the day the last American troops left Vietnam in 1973. Whether draftees or volunteers, our Vietnam Veterans served with honor and distinction in what was (at the time) our nation’s longest war. Their bravery in the face of danger, resiliency in the toughest of times, and their humility in the years to follow represent the highlight of the American spirit. Despite the challenges abroad and back home, they fought for one another. Some never returned to the heroes’ welcome their fathers received, and some just never came home. Remember them. Take a moment today to thank a ‘Nam Vet and say a short prayer for those who aren’t here to say, “You’re welcome”.
