[ARCHIVED] Bring Your Food Scraps to the Recycling Center This Thanksgiving

As Thanksgiving approaches, residents with a Recycling Center sticker can drop off food scraps free of charge at 777 Mt. Hope Street. Food scraps should be placed in the designated bins during the Recycling Center’s regular hours: Monday, Friday, and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Not sure what can go in the bins? Visit Black Earth Compost for a full list of compostable items.

Compost bins are also available for purchase at the Solid Waste office, 777 Mt. Hope Street, for $65.00. They make a great Christmas gift for your favorite gardener!

Help reduce waste and keep your holiday green by composting your food scraps!
