On Thursday, Jan. 29, Deputy Chief Chabot was recognized for his outstanding contributions during a celebration held in his honor. Surrounded by those with whom he served for nearly three decades, along with friends and family, he reflected on a career defined by commitment and excellence.

“Beyond his titles and accomplishments, Deputy Chief Chabot’s true legacy is his unwavering character. He is deeply respected by his peers, trusted by his subordinates, and appreciated by the community he has served,” said Chief Christopher Coleman. “On behalf of the department, the Town of North Attleborough, and the many lives he has impacted over the past 29 years, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for his exemplary service, leadership, and dedication.”

A lifelong resident of North Attleborough, Deputy Chief Chabot joined the North Attleborough Fire Department in 1997, proudly following in the footsteps of five family members who served in the fire service across three generations. Throughout his tenure, he held positions as firefighter/paramedic, lieutenant, captain, and was promoted to deputy chief in 2018.

One of Deputy Chief Chabot’s most significant contributions was his leadership within the Fire Prevention Division, where he played a pivotal role in bringing numerous buildings into compliance with modern fire and sprinkler safety requirements.

He was also instrumental in developing and implementing the private fire hydrant bylaw, a forward-thinking initiative that significantly enhanced fire protection and water availability throughout the town.

While his career has been marked by service accomplishments, Deputy Chief Chabot is best known for his professionalism, integrity, and unwavering dedication to protecting others.

The North Attleborough Fire Department and the entire community extend their best wishes to Deputy Chief Chabot as he embarks on his well-deserved retirement.

“On a personal note, I thank Deputy Chief Chabot for his 29 years of friendship and professionalism. He has been my confidant, sounding board, and voice of reason,” added Chief Coleman. “Congratulations on a well-earned retirement. We wish you health, happiness, and success in all your future endeavors. You will always remain a valued member of the North Attleborough Fire Department family.”
