The Big Red Bucks program was a sales incentive program which the town of North Attleboro sponsored to encourage sales at local merchants. The town printed $25000 in gift cards with a unit value of $5. The cards were awarded to customers by participating merchants as a way of thanking the customers for their patronage. After the cards were completely depleted, they were redeemed by the merchants for cash by the town.
The program ran from April through May, and participating merchants said it was very successful.
